Treasure Cave Bay – The Ride!

Ahoy ya landlubbers! The other day I wandered upon two and a half ships in the middle of an unfinished pirate bay.

Aye, YellowSameLeaf had just purchased this room and wanted to put 'em to good use (instead of using them to store her plunder like most of her other rooms). Pirates bein' the topic for this month, we set out to turn this bay into a treasure cave.

BEFORE: Time to ransack this room!

Like all room makeovers, we started with the basics: ALR Cave Walls Tall were already in place, but they needed to be taller, so I stacked up PPR Small Islands and placed the walls on top of them. Then to cover the islands, we placed more tall ALR Cave Walls and Corners in front of them.

For our entrance, we created a three tiered entry out of ALR Cave Arches and PPR Small Islands, then we laid down a floor of Pirate Treasure Rugs. By adding two PPR Mermaid Lagoon Waterfalls on either side to outline our body of water, the base of this room was now complete!

TIP: Wide-open spaces are easy to work with for ride rooms, try using Empty Dark Ride Rooms for that.

As I went along decorating the mainland with Pirate Thrones, Pirate Map Tables, Pirate Treasure Chests, Dead Man's Chests, black Coffee Table Crates, Galleon Masts, a Pirate Player Piano, Madame Leota Table, Pirate Treasure Chair, Parrot Palm Tree and a few Expedition Supplies, YellowSameLeaf asked if I could add something to the room she'd been wanting for quite a while: a ride! Aye, this Host just loves building rides, of course I said, "Absolutely matey!"

We decided the best place to put the ride would be in the water, so we created a miniature attraction called, "Walk the Plank!"

We made a small ship out of Galleon pieces (which you can find in the Treasure Chest rewards for the Pirates of the Caribbean mini-games) and built a ride out of Dark Ride pieces! The ride takes guests up and over the ship and drops them down into the water (just like walking the plank!). Finally, a PPR Tiny Pirate Ship and PPR Skull Rock were added for some swashbuckling excitement!
