VMK Room Makeover

Leota Séance Room

RoyalFushiaMask was busy contemplating her next decorating decision when I took a seat in her room. He favorite attraction, she told me, is the Haunted Mansion and her favorite scene is the Séance Room, home to everyone's favorite spectral speaker, Madame Leota.

RoyalFushiaMask wanted to design a room that featured Madame Leota's Crystal Ball but also wanted to include a lot of purple. Hmmm. This sounds like a job for HOST_Bella! Roommakover powers activate!

BEFORE:

Our first step was to take a good look at what she already had in the room and how that might work with our new design. The Magic Show Blocks that RoyalFushiaMask had already placed in the room were great but needed to be turned to show off the purple curtain and stars.

Creating a dozen columns would allow guests to enter freely while adding a lot of color to the room – if we had placed the blocks right next to each other, it would have blocked the entrance and hid the purple curtains

Now it's time to decorate the floor. Even though this is a Haunted Mansion room, we decided to use a lot of Magic Show items, like the Magic Show Carpets we used to create a really fun design.

TIP: Don't be afraid to use items from other themes to enhance your rooms.

We created six séance stations using Madame Leota Tables, Crysal Balls and Books. Some Haunted Mansion Rocking Chairs and Candelabras were also placed in the room, all in a perfect shade of purple. Every room should have a centerpiece, we made sure to highlight one table by placing it right in the middle of the room. To add a bit more lighting, we added Hong Kong Paper Lanterns in magenta along the sides of the rooms.

AFTER: The spirits are assembling for a swinging wake!

Now with our room colete it was time for a lively party with some silly spooks! Be sure to join RoyalFushiaMask in her Madam Leota Séance Room! (You never know what just might be conjured up!)

Time for me to vanish back into the Kingdom!

The 37th President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon served from 1969 to 1974. Prior to being elected President, he was Vice President under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Nixon was on hand to help Walt Disney at the ribbon cutting ceremony to launch the Monorail system at Disneyland.

Did you know: Walt and his wife Lillian Disney were personal friends of Richard Nixon? Abraham Lincoln was the very first human audio-animatronics figure ever produced by Walt Disney Imagineering, it was completed for the 1964 New York World's Fair and the Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln exhibit.

Welcome to Cinderella's Royal Table! Rudolph greets guests as they enter this beautiful room. Just like the restaurant located in Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, this fanciful dinning room has a raised area on each side and a main floor in the center.

Guests can dine with visiting princesses (Rudolph and her friends!) and watch the sunset over Fantasyland. Have fun but make sure you're home before the Master Gracey Clock strikes midnight!

A Magician's Quest!

Ladies and gentlemen, step right up! Play RubyBrightEye's amazing Magician's Quest! Be astounded and entertained by this challenging adventure that takes you throughout the Kingdom! Meet new friends! Chat with NPC's! Play games!

This week we'll look at how to build a Quest room that will make your friends feel like a part of the Magic!

BEFORE: A great start but it needs more magic!

All great magicians know that the atmosphere adds to the illusion. We needed a lot of atmosphere for this room, so we started from the ground up! Magic Show Carpet Centers, Edges, and Corners are great

for wall-to-wall carpeting. TIP: Changing the flooring can have big impact in an empty room.

We then disguised the dark walls with Magic Show Room Dividers. We spaced those out by placing blue Hong Kong Paper Lanterns in-between them. Next, we created a stage out of Magic Show Blocks A, B, and C – staggering those to show different colored curtains in the front and a variety of star patterns on the side.

DURING: This room is getting more magical by the minute!

Almost at our halfway point now, the Quest Machine is moved near the back of the stage. By doing this, guests still have room to show off their favorite magic tricks at the front of the stage. By using Magic Show Curtains on all sides of the Quest Machine it showcases the Quest, making it the center of the room.

Now for a place to sit! We created three rows of Magic Show Top Hat Chairs in Blue and Purple and added a Gold chair (a HOST prize) to the center of each row.

The room was still missing a bit of magic, so we added four Main Street Magic Shop Tables around the edges of the room along with two almost-hidden Tower of Terror Elevator Teleporters in the far corners – for magic tricks that are both fun to watch and add magic to the room!

AFTER: The stage is now set for a amazing Quest!

Check out RubyBrightEye's great new room for his Magician's Quest! The next time you build a great Quest, make sure your room reflects the style of your Quest – you never know when a Quest Competition might be right around the corner!

Hey all, Main Street VMK here. Most of you have read Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark, and have been waiting one or two years waiting for the second book. I have some great news for you, it's coming out in August! TellMeAboutIt and I have been looking at Ridley Pearson's blog, and we have found some really cool news for everyone who likes Kingdom Keepers, and VMK!

FILM: Yes, there is a Peter and the Starcatchers animated theatrical film in the works.

Won't know about Kingdom Keepers for another month or two. If it does go, and if there are auditions, I'll let everyone know.

Urakan's make you find items. But urakan has taken it a step further. He hid the items inside of the Tron Transporters, so you have to go into the teleporters to find the item!

There has been updates in VMK today! The President's Day Quest is still up. The prize has changed to 1,000 credits instead of the 500 credits and the pin is no longer there. There is only one problem, if you did the quest yesterday; you cannot play the quest again.
